About Pride in the Port 2026
UK Pride 2026 is coming to Newport and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome you.

On Saturday 5th September 2026, Newport will host UK Pride for the very first time, marking a huge moment not only for our city but for Wales as a whole. hosted by pride in the port, this celebration brings together our local LGBTQIA+ community, allies, organisations and visitors from across the UK for a day full of colour, joy and connection.

UK Pride 2026 is about visibility, belonging and celebration. It is about creating space for everyone to show up as themselves, whether that is marching in the parade, dancing at the main event, supporting from the sidelines or simply enjoying the atmosphere with friends and family.

What is UK Pride?
UK Pride is a network of pride organisations from across the UK, working together to promote equality, inclusion and LGBTQIA+ visibility nationwide. each year, one pride is selected to host UK pride, giving them the opportunity to showcase their city, their community and their local activism on a national stage.

Being chosen to host UK Pride is a huge honour, and we are incredibly proud that Newport has been selected as the first Welsh host city.
Why Newport?
Newport is a city with a strong sense of community, resilience and pride. Hosting UK Pride here is about celebrating the diversity that already exists in our city and amplifying the voices, stories and experiences of LGBTQIA+ people across South Wales.

This event is rooted in our local community while welcoming people from far and wide. whether you are a Newport local, part of the wider welsh LGBTQIA+ community or travelling to celebrate with us, UK Pride 2026 is for you.
